When the University of Tennessee’s cornerback’s coach, Willie Martinez, recruits both starting corners from the same high school, they are bound to be talented. That is definitely the case for #0 Dylan Lewis and # 8 Tyler Redmond. They are the starting cornerbacks for the Milton Eagles in Alpharetta, Georgia. Milton is the reigning 7a State champions.
The two defensive stars began their season at home against the Buford Wolves. The duo played an exceptional game, in what was a hard fought, defensive battle. Milton never trailed, but the team had to overcome some adversity, including a 2-hour weather delay, and a late drive by Buford which got them within 3 points, making the final score Milton 13 and Buford 10.
Lewis and Redmond were great in coverage all night, making it difficult for Buford’s quarterback to even think about throwing in their direction. They also showed their ability to help stop the run, as they both have a nose for the football.
While Volunteer fans are excited about these players coming to Rocky Top, the two young men have another goal in mind first, a second straight state title. With the talent laded roster, there is a good chance they could get their last wishes as a Milton Eagle.
